can someone tell me or show me how I can set seperate logs for each virtualhost. I am trying to see what amount of hits or traffic each site is getting but all the hits are going to the accesslog file in the logs directory combined. I would like to have seperate logs for each domain or virtualhost to simplify reading of logs.

Thank you in advance

Keep in mind if you have a seperate log for each domain that apache will end up having a whole bunch of open files. There's a limit to how many files a process can have open defined in the kernel source. A friend who was admin'ing a web-devel/hosting company ran into that once and ended up letting the lower traffic sites share a single log file and parsed stuff out with perl scripts. Let the big sites have their own files.

Maybe not a big deal now, but could be in the future ;-)

Jr Thanks a lot I did not know that and that is a great bit of info.. I will monitor the site for the first week and then move the low traffic sites to a single log like you said but how can I use a single log but yet make my program seperate them when I run an site traffic analizer?
