Hi

I'm having problems with an ABIT KV7 mobo.

Spec:
ABIT KV7
2 x 512MB DDR400 RAM
1 x 120GB Maxtor S-ATA HDD
1 x Radeon 9800PRO

I am attempting to install Windows XP home onto the S-ATA drive, I am able
to install the additional driver using F6 during text setup and then it
continues to load generic driver files.

When it attempts to start the windows installation i get a blue screen error
telling me that "my mobo BIOS doesn't support ACPI" i know for sure that it
does and followed the advice given (F6 and manually select ACPI) but still
no go. Any suggestions?

Regards

Gary

Bad memory in the end guys, 70 errors and counting on Memtest, good eh....

Thanx for ur advice

Glad to hear that you solved the problem.
And thanks for posting back with the solution.

Mmmm well i'm back!

New memory arrived this morning Kingmax "Turbo" 512MB 3500 Fast DDR. Installed and tested with Memtest, no problems found, I thought great! Lets install Windows.

Same problems occur, i'm now starting to think CPU. I tested with a spare Geforce i had around, same problem. Put everything onto a spare mobo and still the same problem!

CPU?

Cheers

Gary

Well the original RAM was found to be faulty and also the CPU. Replacement on its way!
