Hi!

When i am connected to the V.24 Interface of the aau and i reset the aau then i get a message, that the filesystem is corrupt and i had to consider mkfs -i to "re-inizialize" it.
I have tried to do this, but i dont know how i have to write the command! "mkfs -i volume name"? Which commands do I need to read out all required parameters to enter mkfs -i?

Many thanks for your help!

Best regards

2.3 Recovering the file system

At every system start-up, the file system is checked for any inconsistencies, which may be caused by, for instance, a power failure during file transfer.

If any reparable faults are found, these are corrected automatically and the message WARNING: File system recovered, please check files appears at every log in. After the files are checked, remove the file fsyswarn wherein the message resides, so it will not appear again.

In case the fsyswarn file does not exist, but the message still appears at log-in, the system has to be reset to clear the message.

If any irreparable faults are found, the following message will appear: WARNING: File system corrupt, please consider "mkfs -i" to re-initialise . You then have to do the following (which will delete all the files):

If you were transferring a file during a power failure, begin with removing that file and restart the system
If the problem remains, type the command umount 4.0 and then
for AAU Board (ROF 137 5411/2):
mkfs 4.0 FDSK 7812 100

The number 7812 is the file system size in blocks and it can be checked with the flstat command.

Then type the command mount 4.0 and, if not successful, restart the system.

If the problem remains, type the command umount 4.0 and then:
for AAU Board (ROF 137 5411/2):
mkfs -i 4.0 FDSK 7812 100.

Then type the command mount 4.0 and, if not successful, restart the system.

Hi Griller!

Many thanks for your help! I have searched in ALEX but without any result. Which Database do you have? Can you give me the article number?

best regards

Aloha.

The one I'm looking in is "ASB 501 04 R11" BC12 Ref. Lib. Up to SP6.
And use the search word FDSK. Got 1 hit :)
Also Search for AAU and you will find lots of info, configurations, files... a.s.o.

Cheers Griller
