Hi all,

first post here, I'm an IT manager for a SMB automotive company.

We are using an Aastra 470 base and we are evaluating alternative cheaper handsets.

Our needs are very basic:
- phone book or at least the possibility to import phone numbers,
- good volume,
- audible ringtone + vibration,
- the possibility of seeing missed calls.
We are using both rugged and normal handsets.

We are trying (partially) compatible DECT phones, with some issues:
* Gigaset SL610PRO: does not show missed calls
* Gigaset R630H PRO (rugged): no option for importing phone numbers

Has anyone experience with other brands handsets used with this base that just work?

Thanks in advance
Roberto

Sorry, but what's wrong with 6x2d handsets?

They cost 2x-3x what Gigaset handsets cost (200 euros vs 60-130 a piece).

Since we have a lot of users but very basic needs, we are looking into ways to save some money.

I think we should have implemented one more basic system from the start, but this is what we got.

Majority of 3rd party DECT handsets will "work" with A470.
When say "worK", meaning you be able to subscribe handset as a GAP terminal and make and receive a call. Other functions (time, name, CID, VM indication,...) are not guarateed. I have done some testing with Ascom/Ericsson/Aastra DT3xx, DT5xx handsets and all above functions are missing. Alcatel handset (can't remember model) also work but with same result as above DT handsets.
