AAR failure when WAN circuit to remote site is down

AAR is set up on CCM 4.1.2-SR1 and works properly to redirect calls over the PSTN when the Location bandwidth limit is exceeded to a remote site. However, when the WAN link to the remote site is down, and SRST kicks in, the call from the central site with the CCM gets a reorder response, and the call has to be made with a different access code to connect over the PSTN circuits. The remote site works just fine in either mode, the AAR feature at the central site seems to be incomplete. Any suggestions? Does anyone know if a newer CCM version handles this situation correctly?

Thanks,

bb

There is going to be an option in 4.2 where you can specify a number to foward to if the device becomes unregistered from the call manager.

This option will be in the same place you specify the Call Foward All and Call Foward Busy.

Hope this helps

Thanks,

I heard the fix was on the roadmap for 4.2 but had not heard one way or another.

Great news!!

I thought AAR only works on WAN busy as it needs to know about the External Mask set up on the destination handset as CCM uses this to re-route the call to PSTN using it- ext 2000 external mask 1212610xxxx so CCM routes the call sto 12126102000. CCM 4.2 has a new feature for call forwarding of un-registerd phones
