We just installed a Magix 3.0 will CID and messaging. In order for users to check voice mail from outside, we assigned a CID (#599) to a phantom extension will mail box setup as integrated VM. It works fine most of the time but users are starting to report that every once a while when they called in, the AA (no greetings) did not pick up and the call went straight to the operator directly. Anyone knows what we are missing here? We have a 4 ports messaging.

How many phone lines on the system? Is the AA picking up immediately?

It may be that all 4 ports of the voicemail are busy. @ people checking voicemail and 2 calls coming in at the same time... If all ports are busy I beleive that the calls wiould ring into the operator.

We have 7 incoming lines (20 DID) and 8 outgoing lines. According to the operator, she does not believe that the voice mail was very busy when it happened; however, is there any way to verify it.

Put auto-dial-inside buttons on her phone for each of the Voice Mail ports. The LED's will indicate when the ports are in use.

You may be better off using a calling group as 599, rather than an adjunct. Set the calling group to overflow to the voice mail calling group, and it will probably answer more quickly as well.

Thanks for the recommendation and I will show it to my tech.

New updates: most of the incoming lines were locked up last week (getting dead air)and when we checked the error log, we saw some "interdigit time out " message. We warm boot the system and everything back to normal. Then we called the local phone company to ask them to verify the quality of the lines. They checked and reported the wink is ok. We thought that the error may be due to poor line quality (noisy) that the digit signal was not clear enough for the magix to pick up. Any thought?

Do you have more than one cabinet?

Multiple cabinet systems have to be started in order. A power failure sometimes makes it do weird stuff.
