AA stuck in loop, doesn't go to VM

Hi,

We had a phone tech setup an automatic night message (starts at 5:00 PM and stops at 8:00 AM) on our Merlin Legend (I believe it is ver 5) phone system. The AA answers calls to the main number and you press '0' to get an operator. If the operator doesn't answer then x200's VM (the receptionist's) used to pickup the call. Now the AA message just starts over and a caller can never leave a message. This happens either during the day or when the night message is active. Any ideas on how to fix this? Also, I don't know phones very well so I need simple instructions.

Call the phone tech who programmed it and have him fix it.
 
I tried but we didn't catch the problem in time so they won't fix it without charging us again.
 
The dirty buzzard, I think they need to not be in business.

I stand behind my programming, at least for the 1st day or two, when suprizes like that are found.

What type of mail system do you have?

Once we know that, we may be able to provide some generic info.
 
It was actually quite a while (a month) before it was noticed. I found it while testing after re-setting the time for daylight savings. Because there are faxes that are retrieved through x200 VM via x198, the voice aspect was ignored by the receptionist.

Our VM Server is an Avaya w/Intuity Audix 5.1 and the main phone is a Lucent MLX-20L. I think we have a Merlin Legend Rel 5.0. (I hope all of this makes sense and is enough info).

I just tried calling x200 directly and I never get transferred to VM (maybe this is the problem) but rather the AA message starts after 8 rings. x200 has a greeting recorded and is active.
