Hi gurus,
1.) I'm not new to unix, but new to HP-UX. My question is,
does the A3495A DDS3-Tapedrive need any special driver
to be loaded, or is the stape-driver o.k ?
HP-UX Version: 10.20, System: K370

2.)I hve to install an extra LAN-Interface-Card on the same
System too. When the LAN-Card (A3495A 100Base T)is
physically installed, lanscan doesn't detect the card.
The K370 Config-guide says not to use the built-in
802.3 LAN-interface, because this is an unsupported configuration. Do I have to disable the built-in LAN,
and would that be the cause of the problem ?

Any help would be strongly apreciated.

HI from our DBA
The driver for the DDS3 tape drive we use is the stape driver, but we have a C1537A drive, probably no different
to what this chap is using.

Do you want to do the honours and tell him.

The second lan card in the machine should come with a driver. From memory, lanscan works best if the card is
actually connected to a network as well and the /etc/rc.config.d/netstat file is appropriately modified
to enable the second card. (Which will probably require a reboot once configured properly)
cheers
frank
