We have several extensions here, and I have a problem with 2 of them. At one point - these two phones were moved to different offices and then moved back - the profiles seemed to load ok - they both work.

PROBLEM: When some uses ext. 1 then ext 2 has no volume, if you wait until the person is done on ext 1 then you unplug ext 2 and wait a few mins - it works.

But if you use ext. 2, then ext 1 has no volume, and you do the same (wait, unplug) then it works.

It's driving me batty - can anyone help ??

Thanks.

Westcoaster, when I power the system down - do I lose anything ? Voice mail setup, greeting, etc... ?

Or is it just a reboot of the NAM ?

IF EVERYTHING IS GOOD YOU SHOULD NOT LOSE ANYTHING, AFTER THE MICS COMES UP YOU MAY HAVE TO REBOOT THE NAM AGAIN

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

Thanks - I'll try that.

Obviously I should do this AFTER hours correct ?

YOu can do it anytime...but you will lose all calls for about 2-5 minutes while rebooting, so after hours may be best.

as has been said, you should be good to go with a nam, it is the flash voicmail that can be unpredictable. you will lose any calls that are in progress when you pull the plug, so it would be wise to do this after hours.
If you have the resources (the password) it would be a good thing to do a proper shut down on the nam. feature 915 enter the password, next until system shut down, choose "grace", if that doesn't work then "quick" wait until you hear the decending tones then pull the plug.
A second shorter way (not really proper) would be to pull the fibre connector out of the bottom of the nam, wait until the decending tones and then pull the plug, the only problem with this method is that it doesn't remove the 9XX feature codes in the telephone system.

I've had the same problem with MICS 6.1 XC
It was resolved by diabeling the ports for both sets and re-enabling them. Worth a try....

Thanks for the info.

I went into maintenance and did tests on the ports for both phones, and it asked me if I wanted to disable them first and I hit yes. Then it re-enabled them after the tests were complete. Is that how you disable the ports ?
