Hello all,

I need a little bit of information in a hypothetical situation. If I have on Option 11C, and I install a fiber daughterboard on the SSC, can I still connect the Main Cabinet (NTAK11) to an NTAK12 expansion cabinet via the copper cable?

I know it sounds like a weird thing to do, I just want to know if it will let me.

Also, I was wondering at what release fiber and IP connectivity were introduced between Main and Expansion cabinets. I can't seem to find a definite answer.

Thank you,
Arch

1st, no you can't have a copper & fibre db on the same ssc

depending on your market, fibre 1st appeared on rls21

correct, if your considering co-location i've seen it done at over 100 yards. nortel doesn't support this, but after the last layoff they don't seem to support much that happens in the real world.

The reason I started this thread is that I have quite a few two-cabinet 11Cs out there of various release. I was hoping that if I were to enter LD 22 and PRT CINV that I would be able to tell if the expansion cabinet was an NTAK11 or NTAK12. The problem is that sitting in my office here, I can't find a site that's definitely an NTAK12 so I didn't know if it would have something different in the LD 22 CINV or not.

Here's an example of what I'm looking at:
Code:
>LD 22
PT2000

REQ PRT
TYPE CINV

CPU: NTDK20
Flash Boot: NTDK34AA
AUXRES: 68EC020 - V# ab02
SRAM: 128 kBytes
DRAM: 8 MBytes
Program Store: 24 MBytes
Primary Flash Drive: 8 MBytes
Security dongle is installed.
Expansion board #1 is installed.
Expansion board #2 not installed.

It just tells me that AN expansion daughterboard is installed, but it doesn't say what type. Does a copper connection respond to this at all?

wishi could help but don't have a copper expan on my net, chances are the copper would tell you less..

Thanks John, that's kind of what I figured.

Anyone else have a copper system that they could check on for me? It'd be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Arch

I've got a two cabinet copper connected Opt11C Rls 18 but I can't get a CINV to PRT under LD 22. Sorry but I tried.
