Hi there,
I have a rather strange connection problem with on of my servers. I can ping it from outside the LAN without a problem, but when I ping it from a machine within my lan, I get a 100% packet lost.

I am just trying to come up with all possible causes for this behavior; I checked my iptables, and there is no rules set in that server.

any input will be helpful!
thanks

How many Ethernet cards in the server? Try a tracert to see where you get.

When you say 'outside the LAN', do you mean out on the Internet? Maybe something is performing NAT (Network Address Translation) so the IP address of the server on your LAN is different to the one visible from the Internet. Are the other IP addresses on your LAN in the same subnet?
