Someone here uses the control toolbox to create precedent documents. This is mainly for the tick box, and although they could use the basic Forms toolbar they don't want anything locked down. However when other users open the document, they have to click on the Design Mode button in order for the tick/check boxes to work. Does anyone know a way around this.

Many thanks

Hi,

My Word 2003 Control Toolbox Checkboxes work.

Please explain more.

It does work, but when someone opens the document the control toolbox toolbar appears and they have to click on the design button in order for them to insert the check marks.

What I am telling you is that I cannot replicate that behavior.

When I open such a document, the check boxes work just fine.

Your users MUST enable macros when opening the document!!!!!

We are using 2000 so maybe that could be why. We are about to go to 2003 so will check it then, many thanks.

Really do not believe it has to do with 2000 or 2003.

More than likely, they are NOT enabling macros.

Check THAT out.

Have done that already and we get the same issue whether you do or don't.
