We currently use 2000 but about to go to 2003. I've been doing some testing using Heading 1 numbering (for example in Schedules). We would have a heading Schedule 1 and this would be cross referenced (referring to heading text). This appears fine, but if we later update it, say to Schedule 2, all that appears in the cross ref is Schedule. I've tried several things I even did SchOne and once updated to SchTwo, all that appeared was Sch. Has anyone come across this or know a fix. I know we can use bookmarks, but this is more time consuming and can be more complicated for some users.

Hi sooze,

Is the copy of Office 2003 you're working with fully patched? Have you tried repairing it (Help|Detect & Repair)?

Cheers

I've actually just discovered that is the norm in 2000. I wouldn't have a clue about patching as that would be done by the technical guys. Many thanks
