a Hole on the IDE 80wire Cable?

I think they are all the same, wether missing the hole or not.Either the cable is 40 wire or 80 wire, but both are 40 pin ide. You can ignore the hole, means nothing.
If your h drive requires an 80 wire cable then thats what you want to use, thats all the newer h drives. Some older ones can use either cable, and still some older ones will only work on a 40 wire cable.

It is the wire that identifies slave. There is a hole there, between the center and end drive connectors, to force the slave on that cable to be put in the center if M/S. Or to identify the drive in the center as slave in a CS mode.
