We will be using the R8 system only & hopefully will soon get a spare one & get rid of the R6.
All the stuff that came along with the R6 system is here though, and...

I forgot that the R6 system came with a Lucent Backup/Restore Card, so=>
I have that to use as well as the Avaya Partner ACS Remote Access/Backup/Restore PC Card that came with the R8.

Is it correct to think that a backup made on the older card is just as good & useful as a backup made on the newer card ??

If so, I can store one card off-site for safekeeping and leave the other in the system.

Thanks for any help !!

Try restoring the system from that card......if it fails , then you will know for sure

That was an obvious test - and also one I am reluctant to perform while I am working on other aspects of this system that are being troublesome.

All the info I've seen about both cards indicates that they are compatible with all versions - but that is also what I would expect from folks who sell stuff.

So rather than trusting the only info I could find - or experimenting - I have asked here.

If there are differences which may make for problems with the older (Lucent) card vs. the Avaya marked one, I hope someone here will tell me before I try what was suggested and screw things up ?!?

Thanks.
