A communications failure occurred on the backup device 1

I recently updated my mail to Exchange 2003 running on MS Server 2003. I am using Backup Exec 9.1 and I recieve a failed job about 2 times a week with no consistency. I am backing up my Exchange Server from my File Server which is also running MS Server 2003.

The backup completes on the File Server but I receive the below error when trying to back up the Mail Server.

Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xa00084f9 - A communications failure has occurred between the Backup Exec job engine and the remote agent.

Final error category: Resource Errors

I looked at the support on Veritas, but everything they suggested I have already have in place.

Has anyone had this problem?

Seen it once before and it was due to a NIC being set to full duplex whilst the other end of the connection was in a hub (half duplex).

Instead of starting my Media Server TCP dynamic port range at the default, I started it at 4000 and it has been working every since.
