Could someone please recomend a good book for AIX, easy to understand, explains all features? Please also include a book for Shell Scripting for AIX, something that is practical and explains all day to day features of shell scripting.

Thank You In Advance

go to and search on "certification study guide" AND AIX. You will get a list of books published by IBM (which you can download) that are very good about explaining the features of AIX.

With your user name, I'm assuming you are an Oracle DBA. Another string I would suggest searching on at the Redbooks site is tuning AND AIX. The Redbook Database Performance Tuning on AIX is very good.

Try this ... "The AIX Survival Guide" by Andreas Siegert. Published by Addison-Wesley ISBN 0-201-59388-2.

A real life saver!

The new Kornshell Command and programming language
