What is the difference between routers? Why choose one over the other?
What makes prices different with routers? What will the top priced router have compared to the lower priced router?
well normally the more pricey ones are faster, better wireless, better built-in safety.
Depending on what yourgonna use it for, the safety actually doesn't really matter as long as you have it password protected and theres no way to get that password then your fine. . .The speed well if your a gamer you want something with more speed, same thing with wireless but with wireless you want to make sure it has good wireless connection, some have some real sucky ones just to say its wireless.
the more Mbps (MB per second, about 1000MB = 1GB) the faster it is, but it only gets as fast as your current Internet provider, like I have 7MB (7MB a second) and its good for 2 desktop computers playing pandora and gaming along with another computer on facebook (farmtownkinda stuff) and theres basically no lag.
I'd say you should have at least 2MB, its slow with more then one computer gaming but yeah. . .not that bad. But also you don't wanna waste money getting something more powerful then what you have with your provider, because if you have 24mb with your provider and your router only does a max of 7mbps then you'll only be getting 7mbps and same thing the other way around (if your router gets a max of 24mbps but you have only 7mb with your provider then you'll only get 7mbps).
On what basis do we select a router? ex:- Cisco 2811, 2821, 1800 series
It depends how many people are plugging into your router, the higher models have higher amounts of ports, and more of everything. If you're just looking for a home router, I suggest the 800 series.
Where do I get Cisco 1800 series Routers?
Search from"GOGLE" or you can visit here: where enugh details about buying Cisco IT Products...
Are there any known conflicts between cisco routers (3800 or 1800) and netgear switches??
Might depend a little bit on what you are doing, but assuming you are not doing anything exotic, no, there are no interoperability issues whatsoever. Keep in mind that a Cisco ISR is much more "enterprise" class versus Netgear which is really a consumer product - so the features available on the two are significantly different ... but many people have integrated the two. Hope this helps.
Pls can you recommend a home cisco router to connect to the internet at home?
I want to replace my belkin router F5D7633 with a cisco one? can you tell me an equivalent cisco router?
The cisco family for use at home is the Linksys brand. The last wireless home router is the Linksys E4200. It comes with leading 802.11n wireless technology (transfer rates up to 300 + 450 Mbps), with 4 maximum speed Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps) for your LAN ports, and also with a USB Storage Port that lets you add an external USB drive to your network and share files at home or over the Internet.
Other LInksys economical option is LinkSys E1000. It comes with 4 Fast Ethernet ports (10/100 Mbps) for your LAN, and doesn't have the USB Storage Port option.
I need advise on choice of equipment. I also want to know where i can purchase the cheapest equipment (new or old) in India (lucknow). Could anyone provide me the information? Could anyone tell me the lumpsum approximate cost for purchasing equipment for practicing CCIE lab? Thanks,
You can prepare CCIE (R & S) using GNS3 software, this software support all router related labs, and buy switches for switch related labs.and best series is 3560 for ccie.
