I have been using musicmatch for sometime now without any problems. Last week When I tried to run musicmatch I got this error mesage.
Microsoft visual C++ runtime library.
Runtime Error!
ProgramC:\programfiles\musicmatch\musicmatchjukebox\mmjb.exe
Abnormal program termination
MMjb has caused an error in MFC42.dll
MMJB will now close.

I uninstalled musicmatch and downloaded version7.2. When I tried to run it I got this error message.

Microsoft visual C++ Runtime Library.
Program C:\Windows\Temp\_istmp9.dir\_ins5576._MP
Abnormal program termination
_ins5576 has caued an error in kernel32.dll
_ins5576 will now close

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Here is link to your first error. Here and answer to your second question:

The Windows temp directory, which is used by the operating system for temporary file storage, is occasionally cleaned out automatically by Windows; however, you may need to clean it out manually by doing the following:

- Close any applications that are currently running on your system (including those in the system tray, next to the clock on the
taskbar).
- Open Windows Explorer.
- Navigate to the Windows temp directory (typically "C:\Windows\Temp" in Windows 9x & ME, "C:\Temp" in Windows NT,
"C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp" in Windows 2000).
- Delete all of the files and directories in the "Temp" folder.
- Reboot your PC.
- Try installing MUSICMATCH Jukebox again.

Mr Fixit,
I've carried out your instructions about 5 times and each time I got the same error message.

I think I would go over to the Windows temp
directory and see if there are any files left from some other install. You may have to edit the registry and remove all refers to MMJ. It looks like from the errors your Visual Basic has gotten update. You might try updating it again from the Winodws Update site. Let it show you all of the installed updates.

Thank you for your help Mr. Fixit,

I took your advice and deleted all instances of musicmatch from the registry, ran microsoft regcleaner, rebooted my computer and installed musicmatch again. This time it went through without any errors. I am now enjoying musicmatch again.

You are Welcome I was glad I could be of help.
You never know maybe you may be helping me next time.
