Hi there,

I am trying to revive an office 403dt. The red light is on and i cannot upgrade. I need .99 bin files, i beleieve. Also what bin files after .99 do i need?

Where can i get them from?

Regards,

Phonqueen

You don't need the (99) bin files. These are for an intermediate step in and upgrade from major versions.

What version were you on before it failed? Did it fail during an upgrade eg from 1.4 to 2.x or 2.x to 3.x? Or did it just fail for another reason?

You need to start again. I would suggest uploading the 1.4 bin file, or you could try 2.x and then to the relevant (99) file.

Thanks for the reply,

I think this system was wrongly upgradad from 1_4 to 3
after this it was AT-X`ed by mistake. Now it wont upgrade at all.
What do you suggest?

I'd start from scratch with 1.4 bin files as it will need to go via 1.99 then 2.x then 2.99 then 3.x to successfully work.

Do you have the 1.4 bin files?

Put these into a directory, set you Working Directory in Manager to this location, run the AT-X commands, put a BOOTP entry in Manager and it should pick up the 1.4 file and go from there.

disturbedone,

Yes i have the 1.4 bin files. I have tried this. But i will try one more time

To make it easy, create a folder eg C:\1.4 and place that ip403.bin file in there. Then go to Manager and select File/Change Working Directory and enter the C:\1.4 as the location.

Give your laptop a static IP address of eg 192.168.42.99 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 with default gateway of 192.168.42.1.

Have you LAN cable plugged in and the DTE cable. Run the AT-X commands as you normally would. Have Manager open and watch the TFTPLog screen to see the MAC address of the system. Enter this in an entry in BOOTP (delete others preferably to stop confusion) and ensure it is Enabled.

It should then start transferring (ensure Windows firewall is off to rule that out).

Thanks for this info i will try it and let you know.

Hi there,

This solution has not worked! The system could be faulty.
I you have any other suggestions i would be grateful.

Regards,

Phonqueen

What do you get in the TFTPLog window? Copy & paste here.
Do you have any other entries in the BOOTP area?
Are you sure you've got a static IP & gateway on your laptop?

Run AT-X2, AT-X3, AT-X4 & AT-X on the DTE port to ensure you clear everything out of it (don't do 2/3/4 if you want to keep any config in it).

Disturbedone,
I have to go now so i will be in touch tomorrow.
