I have a mixed domain of 98 and XP machines, the PDC is 2000 running active directory, for what ever reason the 98 machines will not connect to a printer shared from one of the XP machines, the closest I have got is to reach a password prompt to connect(for which no known password works), I can ping the XP machine (by name and IP), I have enabled and added the guest account to the XP Printer security. Has anybody had this issue and resolved it? I tried a window 2000 Pro machine and was able to connect with no problem at all, I recon its somthing to do with the 98 versus post 2000 domain, although AD should allow these to communicate freely. Any ideas?

Does the Win98 machine see the XP machine on the network? I had an issue where the Win98 machine did not see the XP machine on the network and was told to add NETBUI to the protocols on both machines, never know it may just work :)
