I am investigating an issue with the 96xx series handsets with the vpn functionality.
If the network connection between the phone and the vpn gateway fails the phone appears to reconnect ok when the connection is restored
You can see only ISAKMP Aggressive and Informational messages on the reconnection
However if the phone is powered off and back on it fails to re-negotiate its vpn connection.
It looks like the phone is not attempting to go through the Config Mode to obtain an internal ip address.
It looks like IKE Phase 1 completes however the phone refuses to try config mode? or Quick Mode?
Im thinking at present this is a problem with the firmware on the phones have tried 3.1.03, 3.1.05 and 3.2.0
The only way to get the phone to work again is to leave it for a good long time(leave it unpluged overnight) or use craft, restart phone.
VPN gateway is a Cisco 2851 router
Testing at present to a 9640
Has anyone come across a similar situation?
Can anyone re-create the fault with a different vpn gateway?
Thanks
