We are trying to have 96XX VPN phones write to a syslog so we can keep track of when there certificates will be expiring. Its currently working with 46XX. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I've seen syslog stuff on 9600s for debugging purposes. I wouldn't think it's something you want to leave on indefinitely.

Isn't there a more practical place you could keep track of that, like on the authority that issued the certificate?

Even with debug turned on we are not able to capture the number of days left for the cert. Currently when a new phone is issued the vendor provides a spreadsheet with the date the cert was installed and number of days. We are trying to automate the 96XX's just like the 46XX's. This is what we parsing from the syslog using SPLUNK for the 46xx's:

Jul 6 13:38:01 avayaphone-726596 [Extension] [User:XXXXXXXX] SCEP: MYCERT expiring in 267 Days
