After just completing the upgrade to V6 (licensed) I was eager to attach my new 9650C phones to the system. They came on the network, attached to the TFTP server, downloaded the newest firmware attached to the call server fine.

I logged them on with an extension and password. The soft buttons populated with the programmed buttons. The screen then suddenly flashed "INCOMPATIBLE" in the upper left corner and there are NO call appearances. Tried this on 2 phones, same problem. I am assuming it's a configuration issue as I have 96 56XX phones with no issues at all. Any ideas???

Are you sure they upgraded ?

Is your switch a 406v2 or a 412??? If the answer is yes then the 96xx won't work. IP500v1 & Ip500v2 only!!!

Yes, unfortunately. . . .so much for my vendor, who I reviewed the upgrade plan with before I gave them my money...Thanks anyway

How many 9600 phones do you have ?
You could buy an IP500.
Tell us how your system is at the moment.
Perhaps an investment to upgrade the system to a newer system.
Ofcourse you should not pay it all.

Take the vendor to the cleaners. Get your money back on the phones and make them pay for the license and time.

They really should have picked up on this.

Or make a real fuss and try to wangle a free 500 out of them :)

Thanks but luckily we only bought 2 as a test, and paid for the upgrade to 6.0..
