96XX lost the HOLD feature

I have a customer that has a IPO500v2 that has 9630s and 9620s and its on R7.0.36.

All the phones hanging off that IPO have lost their softkeys when making outgoing calls only. In fact none of the buttons work on outbound calls but inbound are fine. We tried to restore to an earlier date to no avail. Any ideas? (besides the fact that it is still on 7.0, it was on 7.0.12 then we tried an upgrade)

Wow that is quite the nut to crack. I never had that but if you can try a new phone or just default one and test with that.
There should be no reason why something like that happens but we know that IPO has its own little challenges sometimes.

Did they see this fault before you attended or after upgrade?
If after, when you upgraded/ downgraded did you tick the box upload files (default on)?
If you did, do you have a problem with your Manager maybe? Reinstall manager on your PC before recreating and upgrading to same release 7.0.36.
Only have one version of manager open at a time in the network.
How are you upgrading?

While they're getting ready to come up to R8, let them know about a paid essential edition license, avoiding future problems with a lost virtual.

Do they run Manager from local, has upload corruption caused it?
Is monitor throwing out any PRN: statements possibly indicating a fault?

Try new phone files from an higher release.
Then upgrade the phones and see what happens.

FINNALLY Found out what was going on with this one.

The provider was overriding our DID's when we called out with the main number (Despite our request that they let us control the outbound CID with the IPO). Once they stopped, our Feature buttons came back on outbound calls.

Thanks for the help guys. Hopefully someone will find this post helpful if they have a similar problem.

Here is the email I got from the customer.

"We finally found the culprit on this issue you helped out with. Despite _______'s assertions that this couldn’t be the cause, the fact that our outgoing caller ID was being blocked at ________’s switch was causing the problem. I’m not sure I understand how, but once they removed the caller ID block, the issue resolved itself."

This is almost like having the system not playing the MoH because the neighbours have their radio on. ;-)
This is weird and I will keep that in mind for the future.
I would just love to know if this would also happen on a R8.0 and 8.1 system
