On a 9630IP phone is there a way to disable the data port on the back of the phone? We have a group sharing workspace who have their own data network, but use our voice services and want to make sure they cannot piggyback off the data port on the phone.

settings file has that - l2phys or l2stat or something

There is an option in the phone's local 'craft' menu interface where the port can be disabled, but an not currently working at a facility that has the phone available to me to tell you exactly where to find it.

Tnx, sounds like it's doable. I'll research both spots and let you know.

So as below , if you really want to bugger it up set phy1stat to mismatch the data switch settings then the phone wont work(bad idea) otherwise phy2stat turn it off

PHY1STAT 1 Ethernet line interface setting (1=auto-negotiate,
2=10Mbps half-duplex, 3=10Mbps full-duplex,
4=100Mbps half-duplex, 5=100Mbps full-duplex, and
6=1000Mbps full-duplex if supported by the hardware).

PHY2STAT 1 Secondary Ethernet interface setting
(0=Secondary Ethernet interface off/disabled,
1=auto-negotiate, 2=10Mbps half-duplex, 3=10Mbps
full-duplex, 4=100Mbps half-duplex, 5=100Mbps
full-duplex), and 6=1000Mbps full-duplex if supported
by the hardware).

BELOW LOOK AT THE "INT" setting
Local Administrative Options Using the Telephone Dialpad

Guide details how to use Craft local procedures at the telephone for administration. The local
procedures you might use most often as an administrator are:
● CLEAR - Remove all administered values, user-specified data, option settings, etc. and
return a telephone to its initial “out of the box” default values.
● DEBUG - Enable or disable debug mode for the button module serial port.
● GROUP - Set the group identifier on a per-phone basis.
● INT - Set or change the interface control value(s) of PHY1STAT and/or PHY2STAT.
● RESET - Reset the telephone to default values including any values administered through
local procedures, and values previously downloaded using DHCP or a settings file.
● RESTART - Restart the telephone in response to an error condition, including the option to
reset system values.
● VIEW - Review the 9600 IP Telephone system parameters to verify current values and file
versions.
● INT - Secondary Ethernet (Hub) Interface Enable/Disable - Enable or disable the
secondary Ethernet hub locally.

Use craft to get to the local administrative settings. Arrow down to INT and select it. Arrow down to PC Ethernet and then right arrow to disable and then press the save button. Exit back out to the phone screen.
