We've got some 9650C phones and cannot get the Screen saver to work, so they are constantly on display.

They are set up as H323 extensions. We are on R7.0(27) on IP500 v1

We have put all the settings in the 46xxsettings file and when the phone boots it down loads the files and we see it download the screen saver file. We've tried it with both the 96xxiposs.jpg file and our own logo, we checked the size of the image (ie number of pixels) to make sure it is within the Avaya specified range.

But everything fails and the screen saver just doesn't show up and the phone display just stays on.

Thanks for your assistance.

I have done this a couple of times and it works fine, did you also activate the setting and set the timer in the settings file (by deleting the ## in front of ## SET SCREENSAVERON xxx) ? :)

Did that, in all the sections of the file just in case it wasn't picking it up in the section for the specific phones. Have also tried it with the files located on the manager computer and the memory card in the system. It loads the settings file to the phone, but they don't work. At a bit of a loss as to why! :-(

Try defaulting the phone, and after, set your call server. I did the same things, tried Manager 3rd party tftp, couldnt get it. Defaulted set, and boom, good to go.

I had a similar issue getting it to work on a 9608 set. Even though my jpeg was the right size, I had to play with the stretch & skew settings to make the picture perfectly square.

I always had issues with formating the size. There is a USB companion tool i found on avays web. you can use this and it will automaticly size your picture correctly. Works great

I've done a Clear and Reset on the phone. Also used the USB companion tool on the 96xxiposs.jpg Still no success. Is there a way to reset the firmware back to the factory setup? Might not work but I'm running out of things to try!

Change the name of the file to something like 96xxipossNEW.jpg, then change the SET SCREENSAVER in 46xxsettings file to that new file. Then try it. Also delete the 46xxsettings.txt.http file (NOT the 46xxsetting.txt, theres a difference). The reboot the phone.

Thats how I got it to work. The phone sees it already has the 96xxiposs.jpg file, so it doesnt load the new one you created with the same file name.

Indeed, you need to change the name.
It took me ages to find that one.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Make sure the picture is close to the default pixels from the original jpg.

Still not working, It certainly loads the files into the phone, so I'll try resizing the image again, is there a pixel resolution that someone has found that definately works?
