Just got our first 9650s in today and there are no hard buttons for transferring, hold and conference. First Avaya phones I've seen that don't have these.

Do you add them to soft buttons via short codes? I don't see any short code actions for transferring, hold or conference calling so I'm lost. Anyone know how I go about adding these feature buttons?

The only options that automatically pop up on the four softkey buttons is "clear" and "ignore". Even when on a call I never see transfer, hold, etc.

I would have guessed that it automatically have transfer, conference, etc appear but I'm not seeing it. Do certain features have to be enabled somewhere in Manager?

When a call is completed the black, top row of non-programmable soft keys are Hold, Conf, Transfer, Drop.

Like said, the soft keys will be whatever they need to.
Redial drop etc are all there when needed.

Okay, so since they are not appearing does that mean the .txt file needs to updated? Seems odd that this would not be included as a default feature.

You do not listen well :)

Those button are not the phone itself like the 56xx has.

The 96xx phones will have the redial, drop conference etc etc etc on the buttons beneath the screen.

In this case the four button right under the colored screen

Yes, I'm aware of how it's SUPPOSED to work like you thoroughly detailed. What I'm saying is that it DOES NOT work that with the 9650's I have. The softkeys are not saying what they're supposed given the call situation. When I'm on a live call, they are blank.

When I'm in the call log like the picture above everything is fine. When I'm in any menu everything is fine and shows up. When the receiver is on-hook and a call comes in I can Ignore or Answer. However, when I'm on a call, they remain blank. Internal or external call, the four black non-programmable soft keys are always blank.

Ok misunderstood.

You need to upgrade phone to ipo firmware instead of CM firmware.

Actually I apologize, it says "Clear" on the 2nd softkey in. That's the only thing it says when I'm on a live call.

OK cool, thank you for your help. That makes sense.

If you have an IP500v2 with SD card then use dhcp on the ipo and set the http server ipaddress )same ipaddress as the ipo'
Then the ipo will act as http server and it will pull the right files.
