We are running CM5.2 with 9650s v 3.002. Is there a way from CM to remotely reboot these phones AND have them pull down new firmware? So far, not having success. I have seen blogs on this site about pulling cables and resetting the POE switch, etc....just trying to save my local operations guy any trouble.

I don't know if this works for sure with the 9650 exactly but with the 46xx phone you can do a busy and release on the station and it will reboot the phone. You can also do a reset ip-station {ip-network-region}.

busy staiton x
release station x

This will reset all stations in that network region at once. Be carefull with this and make sure only the phones you are wanting to reboot are in that region.
reset ip-stations ip-network-region x

I would also do a "list reg" before and after to make sure it upgraded the phones and to make sure they came back up.

If you are running cm 5.2 with the latest service pack then try this

reset ip-station ip-phone ... use the help key from here, you want type and can specify the phone type.

Alternatively use same as above ... ip-network-r xx
to reset all ip phones in that region.
Be aware some phone type (16xx) will not reboot if they have headset on or are off hook.

Thanks to all but I have tried the busy-out release and the reset IP phones, etc. The phone reboots but does not pull down the firmware. The only way it has worked so far is to physically unplug the phone.
