I have a 9641G that started giving me issues today, when it rebooted it never gave me an option to press * to clear settings, it goes from bootup logo and after 40 seconds to Installing Backup Application:58 seconds and gets stuck there.

Is there anyway to interrupt the bootup if there is no option to press * or clear?

There is no option to 'press star to program' , nor does the phone start its DHCP discovery, so there is no way i can access the admin menu.

I get the feeling you have a bricked phone. The "Installing Backup Application" sounds to me like it needs firmware installed. Since it is not letting you access the craft menu with * you can't program the phone so it can grab firmware. It is not DHCP'ing so you can't go that route either. There is probably a way for Avaya to fix it but is likely not field repairable.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

*critchey thank you, i believe its bricked too, i was hoping there was a way to manually flash software update through USB or Serial port.

I will just salvage this for parts
