I have an AVAYA 9640 IP phone set I am trying to test in my PBX.

I upgraded the 46xxsettings file and added the appropriate
96xxupgrade file to my HTTP server.

The phone loads all the firmware settings and receives an IP address from my DHCP server.

When it arrives at the discovering window it just continually cycles through all the CLAN boards in my pbx.

It never gets to the point at which I can enter the extension number and security code in order to register the phone to the switch.

Is anyone else familiar with this issue and is there a work
around or a fix?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

what settings are you using for vlan. Set this to 0

Also look atthe 802.1Q settings. Set this to auto or off and try rebooting again.

[Started on Version 3 software 15 years a go]

CM 3.1.2.639 is the minimum required for this phone to register with he new software.

when the phone shows press * to program
press * and enter 27238 (spells craft) as the code then scroll down to clear on the menu
select clear to clear the setting on the phone
the phone should then reset after about three minutes and should work thereafter.
