I've recently had a replacement phone arrive at a site and when plugging the phone in, the user tells me it's coming back with vlanid=0 rather than 30.

I've had the user perform a reset valuse on the phone but this doesn't seem to make a difference. I've also tried the clear command but this also didn't help. Is there a way to reset the phone back to factory default valuse without fully booting the phone? Or perhaps a way to manually configure IP settings?

Has anyone else seen behavior like this and have any suggestions?

mute button then type craft will get you into craft settings you can manualy input the ip settings and vlan id , but i guess you need somebody to set up a dhcp string in youre gateway or dhcp server ,,,,,thats guessing you are actually utilising vlans.

Good afternoon Monty. According to the user, the phone doesn't complete the boot process. Does mute + CRAFT work at this point? We can get to the programing menu and have tried clear and reset values neither of which seem to make a difference.

We havea dhcp scope setup. We have a vlan setup. we have a web server setup for the settings file. We have 400+ ip phones and this one simply will not coopoerate. Idealy i'd like to get it back to factory defaults so that I don't potentially run into any conflicts with the dhcp scope. Can you advise how to do this please?

Have you looked at this PSN? -
By the sound of your symptoms, you are running a H323 3.1 firmware. The phone is shipped on a slightly higher boot loader adn the downgrade causes the phone to stick in the data VLAN.

Either apply the workaround detailed in the doc or use the latest (sp3) 3.1 firmware.

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
