9620 phones stuck at discover.....

we installed new 9620 phones and they are able to get ip address from dhcp server and download settings file from tftp server but unable to get phone configuration from s8720. when we enter extension number to be loaded on to the phone the phone displays 'discover xx.xx.xx.xx and not registering to CLAN.

we checked dhcp server settings and are fine.

Please help.

thats means the CLAN is not reachable from the IP phone. The question is: why.

try removing your 46xxsettings.txt file (or renaming it, so it does not get loaded). if you have some bad settings in the file, you could get that symptom.


If that works, then try simplyfying the 46xxsettings.txt file, only put in the lines that are essential.

You can try
un-plugging the 9620's -
press star when indicated
enter code = craft
press #
scroll down to clear
the set should reboot itself and find DHCP server
log phone in with extn enter then password enter
