Hello,

I am working with an IP Office running 8.0.43 and a 9620 phone as a remote phone. We have port forwarded ports 1718, 1719, 1720, 49152 to 53247 as both UDP and TCP to the IP Office internal address. The firewall is a Cisco ASA.

What works:
We can get the phone to register.
We can make and take calls using the telephone keypad with very good call quality.
We have visual display of the buttons that are programmed on the 9620.
The phone rings when it is called.

What does not work:
Button presses of the 4 softkeys, navigation arrows, and the programmable buttons are all unresponsive.

Does anyone know what is preventing the buttons from working?

Thank you,

Bartshandle

I have as slight idea that has nothing to do with being a remote phone but more with firmware.
Did you upgrade the phone in the office before taking it home?
What happens if you use a different type of phone?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

It does the same thing on a 9608 and a 9620. Any idea what protocols we could watch for in a Wireshark trace to attempt to pick this apart?

Thank you for the suggestion!

I use a 9608 at home and i do not have these problems.
I would change the port forwarding a bit.

You need:
1719 UDP
1720 TCP
the 49xxx to 54xxx RTP

Do you have 801.q turned off on the phone?

Yes, we have disabled 802.1Q in the phone and the results are the same. Any suggestions?

The phone has great call quality considering you cannot put the call on hold, transfer it, or anything else with it...weird

What firmwatre version is there on the phone?

@ tlpeter

Hi,

Is it possible to load a RSA certificate to a 9620, in order to register the phone with the Cisco WRV210 vpn router ?

It has S9608_11HALBR6_2_13V_V452.tar as the application file loaded on the phone.

@ bartshandle

Are you talking to me ? If yes, i don´t understand it.

@RogerTurboFederer, i never tried using a certificate.
Sorry, i cannot help you with that.

@bartshandle, it is hard to say what the problem is.
The remote worker option seems to be a hit or mis option.
You really need to try and try and try until it works.

For the remote worker not but for the VPN you should be able to use certificates but which certificates i don't know.
You really need to have a look in the 96xx docs for that.
