I'm at CM 5.2.1, G430's at 30.18.1, 9608's at 6.016T. I've tried all the service packs and all of their patches, but I still have issues with these phones.

I had a dream last night that I died. I got to the gate and there was a sign on it that read "I'm on break, lift the handset and speak directly with the man in charge -Peter". I looked over and saw a wall-mounted 9608 with a flashing green light on the 1st call appearance. I said "Oh shit!" and the next thing I knew I was plummeting to hell.

Here are some of the issues I've experienced (and I know, some of the service packs/patches were SUPPOSED to fix some of these):

1) phone locks up, must reboot to get a working phone again.
2) call-park button intermittently doesn't work.
3) soft keys intermittently not there.
4) place and finish call A. place call B and put on hold. place call C by hitting redial, the phone redials call A instead of call B.
5) phone rings, user picks up handset (or presses speaker), phone keeps ringing, nobody on other end, no dialtone, nothing. just keeps ringing until you unplug it.
6) phone screen will intermittently go blank, and phone will lock up. no dialtone, nothing on the screen, must reboot phone.

Does anyone have the magic answer, or want to sell me an old ice-cream truck cheap so I can change careers?

Ian, we were having the exact same problems with our 9608's; however, they were on 6.0.16S. Those problems have not appeared since we made the move to 6.0.16T. Re-reading your post, we have 6.0 on our CM and the same FW for the G430. Not sure if this helps or not.

sharpy667,

the short answer is, i'm not sure yet. every week i find an issue with the environment i've inherited. the network here (and i'm NOT one to blame the network) is an ongoing project, it was not designed and set up before voip was introduced.

i'll post again when i can be sure i know what i'm talking about.
