Hi guys. Does anybody know is it possible to upgrade 9608D01A locally by connecting to laptop if yes can u guys give a short instruction ? I want to test new version first without pushing it to the rest of the phones .

If you have a http server running on it with the correct upgrade.txt and firmware files etc, then yes :)

No need for the direct connection though, can be done on the network if you static everything :)

I am changing http server ip on the phone to my pc ip where i have http server with 96xxx upgrade txt and othe upgrade files. But the phone after reboot keep changing http server ip to the old one which is configured on IPO500. Looks like i need to correct 46xxxsettings.txt file . But that will affect to the other phones too which I want to exclude ..
Also I see file manager option on IPO500 mgmt tools, so I guess I can upload files to sd card and reboot iphone to upgrade it , right ?

No, the handsets only look for files where they're told. If you static every parameter it will not look anywhere else apart from your PC. Other handsets will not take the 46xx settings file from your PC unless manually set to do so :)

ok, upgrade done. The issue was dhcp server with option 242 http server ip , i changed it to my ip , also the new update is coming with 96x1Hupgrade I need to create 96xxupgrade after that phone could pick the files up and upgrade. But this didn't fix the main issue why i did update: short ring on the second line when people can't notice it and miss call on the second line. Here they said update should fix this issue . We r frustrated, You guys may not like this but the truth is : 1) i spent 3 hours to find instructions to upgrade avaya phone and could not , i'm cisco network admin and if i need to find any config exaples/instructions it takes me 5 minute to google and find it, the same thing when i was working with cisco voice . 2) update didn't fix issue as it was described in the release notes.
Thank you amriddle01

DHCP is not a factor when you static every value as suggested, I used to implement/sell Cisco voice solutions and Avaya is like a breath of fresh air in comparison and that's saying something :)

telling us from your dark years amriddle ?
:)

sorry couldn't resist
