9608 speech quality 2

Hi

We have a customer with an SE on R11 SP4.
They did have all J169 phones but recently swapped out 4 of them for 9608.

They have found that the speech quality of the 9608 is poor even though the J169s were fine.

This is external, internal everything.

The swapped them themselves, but I can't see an issue with the set up.

The 9608 are on 6.8002 which appears correct according to the GA doc.

Any ideas?

There was a fix in 6.8.1 for low headset transmit level.
 
did they add the 6.8.1 to the R11.0.4 ?

According to release notes 11.0.4 has 6.8.0.02.

6.8.2 is available on the support site and the notes say it's compatible with IP Office
 
Your mileage may vary, but when we applied the patch to 9608s to fix low volume on headsets on 11.0.4 it appeared to break the busy/available lights on the sidecar.

I'm not sure if anyone else experienced that, and it might have just been a coincidence.

 
Hey gwebster, I saw that link after I had posted my response, but I checked that document that was linked and I didn't see anything about dss modules. the release notes mentioned two new features but doesn't tell me what it fixed (unless I'm completely missing a section).

 
Upgraded to the lastest 6.8.2 looking good so far thanks for the tip @gwebster
