9608 phone and 3 SMB24 button modules - headset won't work 1

Hello Everyone,
The receptionist in my office would like a headset. She has a 9608-desk phone with 3 SBM24 button modules. We tried to connect a headset with an HIS cable (the same headset the call center uses) and it doesn’t work.
Am I missing something?

Switch the lights off...you never know.🕯💡

Try setting up another phone in the same area and see if the noise is still there.

If there is then move the trial phone to a different area and see if the noise goes away.

If it does it may be general interference in the area of the reception

Worth a try...
 
Try going into the "A" menu, Options and Settings, Advanced Options, Automatic Gain Control, and turn it OFF,
 
@TouchToneTommy: That was a brilliant suggestion, but it didn't work.
However @Snowman50 was right, I just had to unplug the phone. I feel like such a dope!

So did you just unplug the phone and replug it back in or did you move it to another point..

Just curious.
