I just got one to test. Not sure what type of phone to configure it as. The 9621G came up pretty easy as a 4621 but the touch screen is terrible. You need stylus to use the scroll bar. So I thought I'd try the one.
From webpage - link above:
Interoperability with Communication Manager 3.x releases:
For Communication Manager releases prior to 4.0, it is recommended that the 9608/9611G be administered as 4620 IP Deskphone and the 9621G/9641G be administered as a 4621 IP Deskphone.
Also update phone(s) to latest firmware H.323 6.0 SP5 - link above.
I think my biggest problem was understanding the transition to separate line appearance and feature screeens. I couldnt understand why the first screen had 5 blank sections (in half screen mode). When I aded a bridged appearance it shows up on the first screen no matter where I put it.
I know I am limited being on 3.1.5 but is there a way to get the messages button working. I have soft VM button but I am hoping I don't have to tell users not to use the messages button.
regarding blank sections - have you enabled FBONCASCREEN in 46xxsettings.txt? line, bridge & feature buttons can be displayed on a same screen...
##
## Enable/disable Feature Button on Phone
## When FBONCASCREEN is set to 1 Feature Button are also
## displayed on Call Appearance filtered screen.
## Default = 0.
## Note: This feature is available on H.323 release 3.0 only for 9630 or 9640 phones & release 6.0 for 96x1 phones..
SET FBONCASCREEN 1
##
I'd also recommend to use latest 46xxsettings.txt:
