Hi guys,

i've a weird issue with this type of IP phone, briefly , i had IP office500v2 R9.1.5 and already installed sip trunks between my site and other branches, all other phones (E129,B179) can dial remote branches easily but only 9608IP phone (r6.6029) can't dial any remote site, the only way to make this specific ip phone dial a remote branch is to put a hash after the dialing number !!
I don't know why this ?!!
any one can help as i don't need to put this hash after the dialing number !!

@amirddle01

i'm only using the system short code and it is applied on all phones, why specifically this type can't dial without putting hash ?!

if you have sip trunks connecting the systems your whole setup is nt optimal

you will get much better performance if you connect the systems using H232 & Small comunity networking!

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Because all the other phones dial enbloc as they're SIP devices, the 9608 is H323 so will be using overlap dialling.... it's shortcodes I'll wager :)

Or dial delay timer...

You can enable enbloc dialling on 9600 phones under the function menu in call settings.

Thank you guys,all of you especially amriddle01 , You are right , i had to use ARS in order to eliminate the hash issue ,
but now i have another issue, i wish you could help, when i login with my user credential (which i use to login to 9608)in any E129 sip phone it says login failed !!
is there any reasonable explanation !!

They use SIP extns, the 9608 extn is H323 so they aren't compatible :)

are you sure about this?! as i can do the contrary process ,login with any sip extension credentials on 9608

Quite sure. You can try hotdesking the users once logged in as their actual extns, but not using the extns :)
