I found this out yesterday. I don't understand why Avaya doesn't have this information easily available. Anyway if you have a problem with the audio on the 9508 speaker phone on release 7.0.23(This is only for 7.0.23)here is the fix.

Turn off the Echo Canceller feature:

• Press Home

• Select Advanced Options

• Select Audio

• Select Echo Canceller

• Press Change

• Press Save

I hope this helps

Avaya has figured this out, and they actually posted a tech bulletin on it.....

Yeah I know but it is not on the knowledge base. Or at least I didn't see it. If they know then why not list it there?

I just had noise when using the speaker phone. It looks like I need to use the patch. I just made the changes listed above. Apparently I'm just not looking in all the right places, I normally just look on the knowledge base.

I have had a terrible noise on the speaker phone .
So i guess that is the same issue.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I guess it is better to have the info twice than not at all. Just trying to help out.

I am not offending you.
I just think that i had the same problem and that this patch should fix it :)

The knowledgebase is always a bit behind with putting those docs online.
That is why you can't find it.

No not at all. You have always been very helpful anytime I have had a question. You are very smart when it comes to this stuff! I appreciate all of the help I have got in the past. This is a great forum.

I thought you felt offended by me :)
The noise is really terrible and i thought the phones where broken but all phones did it.

That is the same problem that I had. It also sounded bad if you made an internal call if one users was on speaker and the other was using the receiver. The receiver sounded bad everytime that you spoke. internal calls receiver to receiver sounded fine.

I noticed it on internal calls too.
I guess i have to do an upgrade this weekend, it is a doctors pratice so i cannot do it on normal times.
