9508 Speaker Phone Feedback

I have another issue with 9508's. This is a recent install on r8.1.52. The users complain of and I have witnessed feedback when using the speakerphone on intercom and conference calls. Issue doesn't seem to happen on regular inbound/outbound calls, just intercom and conference. Anyone else had this problem? I've turned off AGC but still get feedback. The extension ports of the problem phones are on different cards and modules so I can't point towards a combo card or DS30 problem.

Try turning off Echo Canceller under advanced...audio. it's worked for me

9508 Speakerphone Operation
This Technical Tip is to advise customers of an intermittent voice quality issue when using the speakerphone of the 9508 telephone. The issue occurs specifically when the telephone Echo Canceller feature is switched on. The issue has been identified in the R34 9508 telephone firmware included with the IP Office 7.0(23) Administration software. To determine the release of firmware on a 9508 telephone, navigate to the following options:

Press "Home" •
Select "Advanced Options" •
Select "Self Test"
The affected version is displayed as: 9508: Rel: 0.34 08/11/11
Avaya recommends that customers experiencing issues with the 9508 speakerphone to turn off the Echo Canceller feature. The Echo Canceller feature can be switched off by navigating to the following options: •
Press "Home" •
Select "Advanced Options" •
Select "Audio" •
Select "Echo Canceller" •
Press "Change" •
Press "Save"
A fix for this issue will be made available in a future release of software.


This is still an issue on newer firmware.
 
This is a recent 8.1.52 install. 9508's are on r0.39

They haven't address this issue yet. Its still there on .39
 
I read that same bulletin, but always had just general sound quality issues in the past, not feedback. And it only happens on Intercom/Conf calls. I might try the "Feature" Pack install and see if that changes anything.

8.1.52 users r44 so your phones are not upgraded.
