9504 can't change voicemail code/password.

R10.1.0.3.0 build 2 w/ VM Pro on Windows Server 2016. 2 Combo Card, 2 DS8, DS16-B2. Mix of 9508 and 9504.

On the 9504s ONLY, when setting up voicemail for the first time, dialing *17, after you enter the extension number and then pound for the password, when entering the new password, it never accepts anything. You only hear "password must be 4-12 digits..." When you swap out the phone to a 9508, it works fine. We've tested on all DS8, combo and DS15 modules, and with different users. Also, turned off Voicemail Enforcement and Complexity to see if it made a difference - it did not. No matter what we change, it works fine on the 9508, and not on the 9504. We can set the password in visual vm, but then still can't access it when dialing *17 or dialing in externally.

Any suggestions appreciated...
 
Not sure if it will apply but I ran into this issue several times a couple of months back, just as you described except we use 9608's. The only thing that would fix the issue is removing the user completely, saving, and then re-creating the user. Everything worked after that with the password setup.
