Last night I switched the NT 4.0 server that was being used as the PDC and DHCP server to another NT 4.0 server. Everything went smoothly and my 2000 Pro machine was able to log into the Domain and process the logon script. The same for another Win98 SE machine.
ALL of my Windows 95a computers are unable to log into the domain or lease an IP address. A couple of them cant even ping using an IP address!!! I tried adding an LMHOSTS file and also a HOSTS file, but it didnt work. I removed Microsoft Networking and then readded it, still nothing. If I give it a static IP address, it will allow me to log into the domain.. but i dont want to do it this way.
Is there something in Windows 95 that keeps a cache (other than ARP cause i tried that)? Is there some entry in the registry that records the settings?
