I have implemented the above solution to help reduce the frequency of misdialed 911 calls, but we still have way to many of them. I want to move back to my original solution of changing the access to 8 instead of 9. The only problem is that I can't dial "911" anymore. Is there a way I can do this?

Thanks,

JL

911 is already a SPN but when 9 is dialed I get the fast busy signal. Here is how I built the SPN just to make sure I did it right:

LD 90
REQ NEW
CUST 0
FEAT NET
TRAN AC1
SPN

SPN 911
FLEN 3

DENY 2
DENY 3
DENY 4
DENY 5

DENY 9

JL

Keep in mind that 9 right now is my access code. I want to move to 8, but I when I did I lost the functionality to dial "911" only.

Thanks,

JL

When I'm tring to make major changes like this in my systems, I creat a new CUSTOMER and do all my testing there.
Print your packages in

LD 22
REQ PRT
TYPE PKG

If you have REQ prt
TYPE pkg
CUST 2

You can creat a new cust to test cahages in.

I changed to 8 by going into LD 86 and changing the AC1 to 8 instead of 9. I had to change it back due to the fact I couldn't dial "911". I changed the SPN 911 after I made the change to my access code using the fix that ghtrout provided.

Below is all the output from the two SPNs responsible for 11 and 911. I also included the RLI information for them and the DMI.

I am probably messing it up when adding the SPN for 911...

please let me know,

JL

I do have the Cust 2 option when I did the PKG print from ld 22. Is it really hard to create a new customer and is there a way to check and see if one has already been created?

Thanks,

JL

If you are going to get back to normal, you have to smoke those deny codes on that 911 SPN.

I am back to the original setup now and I have recreated both SPNs. I implemented ghrout's changes when I couldn't dial 911 hoping that would help my fat fingered teachers, but they still screw up to much for my liking.

If I switch back to 8 do I have to recreate the SPNs for 11 and 911? Both worked except I wanted to dial just 911 and not 8911. Does this make sense?

I could be explaining this completely wrong.

Thanks,

JL

If you have Rls 3.0 or higher you could setup ESA in LD 24

Or

after you change AC1 to 8 and enter all the way through

change ESN again and add 9 to AC2
Enter 11 as a SPN to same RLI you built above with DMI to insert 9

@Reusser

That is a great idea and probably the solution I am looking for. Adding 9 to AC2 wouldn't be hard and building the SPN should work.

@acewarlock

how do you create a new user or check to see if a second user already exists? If one does exist we don't use it but the tech before might have set it up for testing.

Thanks everyone for your help!!!
