911 calls

I have an G450 gateways at remote sites but I have about three sites with no gateways. They have 9608 IP sets that register through the network back to our main location. Currently when they call 911 the call goes to the police department at the main location (where those phones register). Is there a way to have the 911 calls from those sites with no gateway and therefore no T1/dedicated copper line for 911, to have there 911 call go to local police jurisdiction?

You didn't indicate what kind of trunking you have at your main location so I will tell you what my company does. We have SIP IPFLEX service from AT&T at our core data centers and most of our edge sites are without local trunking. We lease DIDs from AT&T and assign one to each location and coordinate the assignment with AT&T so when they see a particular DID as ELIN they will route the call to the proper PSAP. You would assign the ELIN numbers using the ip-network-map form in CM.

Good morning and thanks for your response. We currently have PRI's at our main site but soon to migrate to Sip and also move away from Avaya to Cisco. Was hoping for a solution until mid next year when we migrate everything.

you can identify a number to send to the PSAP in the network region form. Of course the PSAP would have to know that particular identifies your site address

The simplest solution is probably to add a local copper trunk for 911. Add a SIP gateway, such as an AudioCodes MP-114 or anything similar that allows you to add the local trunk. Add specific routing for 911 at that location.

It's somewhat cheap and certainly cheesy, but can be effective, especially if you're planning something different within 6 months or so.

Okay, thanks

You said you already have G450s at your edge sites, but you didn't say whether you have an analog trunk card (MM711, etc.). If you do and the local Telcos servicing each edge site will sell you POTS you can connect to the MM711. Otherwise as @ZeroZeroOne says get an ATA and use ARS location-based routing. For our sites that just need a fax or cordless phone (no G4X0), we've had good luck with Flying Voice G508 ATAs (SIP to analog); they're cheap and Avaya supported. However, this would require you to have a System and Session Manager (ASM) for SIP registration. If you have no ASM, then an H323 to analog ATA would be your best bet (if you can find one...eBay??) as it can register to CM.
