Does anyone know of a vendor that can provide 911 alerting to a digital phone through a Nortel 81C? I know that Nortel has ESA for 911 but this 81C doesn't have the software package for it and due to the age and version of the 81c Nortel said they can't add the packagae without a major upgrade. The current system is an 81C release 25.40 and has a mixture of old style loop cabs and one IPE tower.

Thanks, Steve

best bet would be to right a script to monitor your cdr raw data.. but that would only alert on disconnect.. you can send 9.911 to an internal station but your taking a chance for a real problem.. here 911 goes to internal security, 9.911 goes to 911 dispatch and alerts security through the nortel.. they get calling number and name to a printer..with the e911 package

Xeta call accounting does this but only on disconnect when the CDR record is generated from the switch.

You are almost bound to a trunk side solution that watches for 911 digits and then alerts. In any case you would have to examine the actual cost of that solution and compare it against the cost of an upgrade. Do you really want to be on technology that is that old?!
