Hi

Anyone installed 9.1 IP office and using voice mail pro on windows 8.1? I have disabled firewall, AV and run the firewall.bat file and the PC and phone system can ping each other but the voice mail wont connect. every time just says on the phone voice mail not running and when in system status is says voice mail type none. I have essential and preferred licenses. Just seems a bit weird.

Any help appreciated

Cheers

Should work, but if you have installed the R9.1 IPO as I should, you also changed the VMPro password.
In the VMPro client, you need to enter this password in: System Preferences> General tab> third row from the top.

Kind regards

Gunnar

I have tried that and still nothing. I'm guessing its the password for the Administrator user?

Not liking all the new security that's come along with 9.1

Cheers

This just happened to me at two sites after I upgraded to 9.1 (I'm running on 2008 & Win7 though). I had to change the VM password like Gunnaro says in the VM Pro Client, but you have to match that password in Manager -> Advanced -> Security Settings -> System -> Unsecured Interfaces -> Voicemail Password...that worked for me after I restated the VM service, everything was happy again.

I think my problem could be something different. Tried that and still no luck.

Mine connects to the system and shows the IP address of the phone system. However shows nothing in groups or users and then when you go into system status under the voicemail tab it says voicemail type is none. It works fine if i change it to embedded voicemail type. I have a license that's valid for R8+ preferred edition.

Cheers

Any reason why you cant simply wipe the PC & Use the Apps Server?

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

I need it to be on windows for another application to be installed at a later date.

Like it or not, adding forced security to the platform was way over due.

Too many relied on the head of lightshow entertainment in the sky enforcing the 8th commandment.
Hopefully the new regime does a better job at protecting our precious systems [thumbsup2]

Anyway, here are some pointers:

- Try disabling the Firewall(s) on your server.
- If you have a DNS service running on it, that may cause problems.
- Entered the specific IP address of the VMPro server in the Voicemail tab.
- Redo your Security settings, the VMPro pwd is what you put in there. (your issue is probably here)
- Do a fresh install, maybe try the Application server if you're not doing any fancy DB stuff.
- If not, put in another pc with VMPro running, see if it connects to that
- Make a Monitor trace of what's going, with the appropriate filters on.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Personally I don't like having anything but Avaya software installed on A VM (or any other Avaya server) PC

if this is for database integration then Windows is unfortunately req & I would follows Gunnies advice above as this is almost certainly either a security or firewall issue.

There is no problem running Application server in Hyper-V.
Then you can keep Windows for your upcoming installs.

I have officially given up on 9.1 think I will roll this out once the 1st service pack is out and guessing by a few posts a million and 1 fixed issues. Everything is turned off and still nothing. Reverted the system down to version 9 and now all working fine.

Thanks for the help today.

Not a bad choice really, rolling out GA is risky business.

Kind regards

I have exactly the same problem, upgrade from 9.0 to 9.1, VM running on windows server 2012.
I have made every possible password in the IPO security the same to rule out if it was using another password, then matched in voicemail pro.
with monitor on it sees the voicemail server down if I stop the service??

looks like a reinstall is my next attempt

If you stop the service, it would be absolutely correct of Monitor to indicate the same.

Kind regards

Any problem with voicemail pro not working is a password issue.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Or Windows firewall...:)

Windows firewall is off, never been on, we have a firewall between the IPO and voicemail but it worked before on 9.0, are more ports now in use? I have changed the password for the unsecure interface in the IPO and vmpro config many times, do you think its worth uninstalling vmpro or am I wasting more time, Thanks guys

Well, I would try a new install.

Kind regards

Oh, and try bypassing the firewall too, first. You never know...
