9.1 - tape does not eject after backup job

However many times I have tried to solve this - I can't!

I have recreted the job but still the media will not eject after a backup job, despite being selected ion the job setup!!
Any help VERY greatly appreciated.
 
Ran into this issue with 9.0 and simply upgraded to 9.1 the problem was resolved. Iam guessing the problem is either with the installation or possibly a hardware issue. Can you eject a tape before performing any backup or is it just after a backup completes? If its the latter then you must be having a software problem. Trying running the repair option during the installation of Backup Exec I have used it before and it has alleviated minor issues like this.
 
Configure the Alert Categories under the Tools menu. Set the Media Remove alert to be cleared after 1 minute.

Hi guys -

I have tried the Media Remove alert to be cleared after 1 minute setting - i had previously found that on a Veritas article - but it has not helped.

I will try and run the repair set up - but do you have any other ideas.......I don't hold out much hope that the repair will work.

Sometimes (during a Veritas product problem) we here at my IT department have to offer a sacrifice to the Symantec/Veritas Gods in order for the problem to be resolved. I recoemend any odd ball in your office for the sacrifice.
 
Sometimes, when Veritas BE is so completely useless (most of the time) I wonder why we aren't using ARCserve - it's a pain to set up but perfect when it gets going...................

I may sacfrifice my boss.
 
Back to work! I re-applied the latest service pack, recreated all selections and jobs and made sure the Alert Categories were still configured to clear after one minute.

All worked!
