FYI and question on 9.0 SP4.

I upgrade my own unit and noticed that when placing calls out my Comcast PRI, touch tone (DTMF) sounds were not being transmitted (I received DTMF tones, but couldn't send them out).

1. I tested calling in and calling out on the PRI, DTMF tones going out did not work for either scenario. Inbound tones always worked.
2. I tested dialing other extensions, it worked correctly.
3. I tested dialing out a SIP trunk, it worked correctly.

Finally I downgraded back to 9.0.3 (CP1) and DTMF on the PRI is fine again.

Anyone seen that before? Anyone else experience it?

Tempted to re-upgrade to 9.0.4 to see if it comes back.

Thanks,
Richard

Seen similiar issues with DTMF on R9 GA so this wouldn't surprise me, a reboot fixes it temporarily, so perhaps it was that that fixed it not the actual downgrade :)

Maybe 9.0.3 has the fix then, certainly not the first time and won't be the last they reintroduce bugs they just fixed :)

I tried it on my system, figured what the heck. Sure enough, no outbound DTMF on PRI with 9.0.4.

This particular system is a 500V1, so assumuing you have a V2 this isn't platform specific. My PRI card is a universal PRI, not a IP400 PRI/card carrier.

Thanks Avaya.

We are running 9.0.4 on ISDN BRI and outbound DTMF works fine.
I tried it on a SIP trunk as well and it works fine.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

It worked on my SIP trunk, but not my NI-2 PRI trunk.

Then it is a US thing :)

At least I read this before I do an install and upgrade next week. I was going to use 9.0.4, guess I'll stick with 9.0.3 with the critical patch for now.

I got bit by the PRI bug in 8.1.69 also. Couldn't dial out if you were connected to an old GTE CO switch, which lucky for me the customer I was doing the upgrade for, remotely, happened to be connected to.

Hey tlpeter, don't smile so big on this statement: "Then it is a US thing"! The US issues usually affect us Canucks as well :-(

Although Canada is a totally different country, we still see the whole lot as north america :)
But you are right :)

EMEA means Europe, Middle east and Africa.
Although Europe is nothing like those other two.
All three are totally different parts of the world with there own great stuff.

any resolve for this? I upgraded to 9.0.4 and have this problem on IP phones only. Digital/analog sets work fine.

I have not had any resolution and have not spent more time on it. Just staying with 9.0.3 for now.

This has affected my 9608's, 9650's, 9621/41's, the 16xx series is fine though, and all digital/analog phones work. For fun, I updated my 9608 to 6.4014 (from 6.3116) just to see if that made a difference... it doesn't. Must be something on the IP500 core firmware. Trying to get a ticket started with Avaya, yet they say we don't have IPOSS contract, but we do and have proof we purchased one, and have it registered. Plus we are a business partner... selling Avaya IP Offices!!!! ARGGGGG! Just get off your asses Avaya and fix this issue!

Our in house system is on 9.0.4 with PRI and DTMF outbound works fine.

We are located in Germany.

I'm in the US PRI NI2 protocol A roll back to SP3 and it works fine.

Like i said, it seems to be a US thing.
We also do not have this problem.
